Kismet Of Terrarossa is a pure-bred Friesian mare from the well-known Terrarossa Stud. Kismet Of Terrarossa was purchased in foal to Dirk (IMP) to start our breeding program with the beautiful Friesian breed. We were attracted to Kismet’s presence and her smaller /finer bone to produce finer elegant Friesians for dressage.
Kismet Of Terrarossa is also an intelligent and sensitive mare – another quality that we liked which allows trainability and overall presence which she passes on to her foals.
She has given us stunning filly foals, both of which are being presented at our Open Day.
We have decided to focus on our Elite Hanoverian breeding program and part-bred influence in the Friesian and for this reason, we have decided to give another breeder the opportunity to own this beautiful and prestigious mare.
Kismet Of Terrarossa has been started under saddle (though we have not ridden her) and has been a delight to have at Winterwood. Ellie May was purchased in 2019 as a foundation mare. Ellie May stood out to us because she is a performed 2-star event horse. She has lovely movement and a beautiful face. Leaning more toward the Holstein and old type of WB mare, Ellie May has produced 2 very lovely foals for us.
She would make an excellent recipient mare or if you wanted to put her to a finer stallion, she would produce a beautiful foal in her own right.
We have decided to focus on our Elite Hanoverian breeding program which gives another breeder the opportunity to own this beautiful kind and generous mare.
Ellie May is a performed event mare (Cath did ride her when she first came to us) and has been a delight to have at Winterwood. She is easy to handle in all aspects though she cannot be tied up. She can be put in the foal crush, examined, and experienced all the handling elements of AI. She foals down without issue and is a wonderful mother.
